As many of you know, getting a pig lift manufactured so we can care for our pigs hooves, avoiding pain, discomfort, and infections that can be life threatening, is now a necessity.
We have many older farm pigs with increasing needs and incredibly thick, hard hooves that are impossible to trim and treat with a simple set of nippers. Sedation of large pigs (over 300kg) isn’t possible onsite, and require costly and unnecessary vet visits (up to $2500). A few of these add up to the cost of an $11,000 lift.
We have an amazing and generous supporter who has offered to double $5000 worth of donations to cover the cost of having a lift manufactured. Unfortunately there’s nothing readily available in Australia.
Running a pig rescue organisation and not having this vital piece of equipment, really is just crazy! We absolutely need it to provide the best possible care for our rescue family.
